In HEHD 8010 - Child and Adolescent Development, we utilized a group projecto to present on a chapter in the text book. My group concentrated on Nature with Nurture. We reflected on learning objectives provided by the professor and connected them to implications in workin gin the Youth Development Leadership Field. A majority of this presenation focused on genetic markers and the importance of understanding that information in connection to the diversity of the children which we serve.

In HEHD 8010 - Child and Adolescent Development, we were asked to develop a range of programs for children and youth that encompass the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children and youth. This assignment was a great way to rethink about the activities that I plan for the camps I run. I was able to truly understand their connection to developmental aspects of childhood.

In HEHD 8050 - Youth Development in the Context of Family, our final project was a of our choosing. I wrote a paper outlining the hardships of being a parent of a child with a chronic illness. Working for the Arthritis Foundation, I've worked with a lot of parents, and heard their problems and worked with them to make sure they have all the resources I can offer them. The purpose of this review is to explore the added stress and anxiety parents have with a child with chronic illness.

In HEHD 8050 - Youth Development in the Context of Family, I reflected on the "Mean GIrls" phenomena and their connection to the Develpomental System's Theory, explaining what parts of their system's affect how they have come to be a "Mean Girl" and the applications and guidelines for how to deal with these challenges.

In HEHD 8060 - Youth Development in the Context of a Global and Diverse Society, I worked in a group to present on Diversity in a Family Setting and how cultural differences affect communication standards and conflict. For the professional this means developing opportunities that create a culture of inclusion, embracing diversity, and engaging families.

In HEHD 8880 - Special Topics In Youth Development Leadership, we learned about Youth Development in the Context of Nature. The key theory we learned about is the idea that children are currently suffering from Nature Deficit Disorder; that children are not spending enough time outdoors and in fact it is impacting their development. While several theories focus specifically on the re-connection of youth that has fallen short due to Nature Deficit Disorder.

In STAT 8420, I researched an article that set out to measure Youth Development Outcomes of children in a Camp Setting. I was tasked to analyze the provided statistical data and report on the methods used to measure the data provided in the article.
