In HEHD 8090 - Management of Staff and Volunteers, I worked in a group to do a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) of the Camp I run, and the volunteers I hire for the week-long resident camp. In order to assess the effectiveness of Camp Cruz’s volunteer program, this studyconducted a qualitative and thorough review and analysis of the program’s volunteer recruitment/attendance, volunteer performance evaluations, and volunteer feedback surveys.

In HEHD 8090 - Management of Staff and Volunteers, I completed one of my favorite assignments. I interviewed several volunteers and co-workers to determine what motivates them to work and volunteer for the Arthritis Foundation. I looked into motivational theories including, "The Five Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace," created by the writers of "The Five Languages of Love." It allows co-workers to understand their own needs for communication and those around them.
