In HEHD 8090 - Management of Staff and Volunteers, I completed one of my favorite assignments. I interviewed several volunteers and co-workers to determine what motivates them to work and volunteer for the Arthritis Foundation. I looked into motivational theories including, "The Five Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace," created by the writers of "The Five Languages of Love." It allows co-workers to understand their own needs for communication and those around them. It was interesting for me to learn how my volunteers like to be appreciated.
