In HEHD 8060 - Youth Development in the Context of a Global and Diverse Society, I conducted a SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) of the Arthritis Foundation's Diversity Practices. While there isn't a distinct Diversity Statement, The Arthritis Foundation does clearly value diversity in their "Code of Ethics." I truly appreciated anytime within this program that I was able to analyze the organization I work for. I enjoyed being able to assess our strengths and find research backing the decisions the organization has made in terms of leadership and policies. This assignment helped me to write and create a national LGBTQ policy for resident programs that has been adopted nationwide as a standard.
